Biography
MEGHDAD is a British–Iranian singer and songwriter whose work is defined by emotional depth, cultural nuance, and a commitment to authentic musical storytelling. Drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of global influences, his sound bridges contemporary production with expressive melodies, creating music that speaks across languages and borders.
Raised with a deep appreciation for both Eastern musical heritage and Western songwriting traditions, MEGHDAD developed his artistic voice early on. His journey into music began with hands-on learning and experimentation, eventually leading to the release of his debut album RED in 2005 — a collection of pop ballads that established him as a thoughtful and emotionally driven artist. From the outset, his work stood apart for its sincerity, melodic sensitivity, and lyrical focus on human connection, love, distance, and inner reflection.
Over the years, MEGHDAD has collaborated with a range of high-profile musicians and producers, shaping a catalogue that blends multiple genres while remaining unmistakably personal. His releases have resonated strongly in various regions, with several singles achieving notable chart positions. Among them, Soul on Fire — featuring Masoud Sadeghloo — marked a major milestone, receiving millions of plays within weeks of release and becoming one of the most recognised tracks in his career. The song’s later multilingual adaptations further expanded its reach, reinforcing his ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Beyond recorded music, MEGHDAD’s presence extends to live performance, media projects, and curated musical platforms. His work reflects a broader artistic vision — one that values quality over quantity, meaning over trends, and longevity over immediacy. Whether performing on stage, recording in the studio, or developing new concepts, he approaches each project with precision, restraint, and respect for the craft.
Currently signed as an artist with HP Records, MEGHDAD continues to evolve creatively, focusing on refined productions, intimate collaborations, and projects that reflect maturity and artistic clarity. His recent work explores stripped-back arrangements and duo performances, emphasising voice, musicianship, and emotional presence over spectacle.
MEGHDAD’s music is not driven by formula, but by experience — shaped by movement, transition, and the spaces between cultures. It is this perspective that defines his sound: honest, composed, and enduring.
